Apollo Care Recalls 162,111 Vials of Compounded Semaglutide Over Particulate Matter
FDA’s enforcement listings show 11 Class II recalls (D-0747-2026 through D-0757-2026) by Apollo Care, LLC of Columbia, Missouri, covering 162,111 vials of compounded semaglutide injection across 11 strengths and vial sizes. The stated reason is "Presence of Particulate Matter; identified as a nylon/polyamide and silk/proteinaceous-type material." The firm-initiated recall began July 29, 2026, was reported August 19, 2026, covers nationwide U.S. distribution, and is listed as ongoing. FDA’s listing identifies the affected lot numbers. Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved.
What this meansIn a separate action, FDA issued this same facility a warning letter in February 2026 citing "serious deficiencies in your practices for producing drug products intended or expected to be sterile." That letter did not name any GLP-1 product, and FDA has not stated a connection between it and this recall. Recall listings name the compounder, not the telehealth brand that sold the prescription — which is why it’s worth asking any provider which pharmacy fills your GLP-1 and checking that pharmacy’s FDA record.
